Week 26: We invited over 500 students from various universities and vocational schools to undertake repair work in the city of Venice, utilizing the workshop and materials provided by the German Pavilion. Each week, a different group engaged and collaborated with a local association. In the final week, students from Siegen relocated the workshop from the German Pavilion to Pandora, a former hospital that has been squatted and revitalized by activists who use the building for cultural events. Week 25: As in many previous workshop weeks, students repaired functional shortcomings using materials recovered from the Biennale Arte 2022, employing minimal interventions. In collaboration with the neighborhood center Portineria Sestiere Venezia Dorsuduro, they installed a ramp, added a canopy, and built shelves. Week 24: The students spent a week maintaining a service building on the grounds of the former Monastery Sant’Elena. What may seem simple was actually quite challenging: students took on roles as masons, carpenters, and tilers. It required time and effort to lay bricks straight, replace roof tiles in a new mortar bed, and repurpose used materials to lash the beams. Week 24: The workshop that was used in the German Pavilion throughout the duration of the Biennale continued its existence at the Laboratorio Climatico Pandora in Mestre on the mainland. Week 23: Continuing the tradition of the Assemblea Sociale per la Casa association, students utilized Biennale materials to further repair squatted apartments in Cassette, a small neighborhood on Giudecca. In doing so, they honored the association`s ongoing struggle for housing rights by occupying and revitalizing apartments that would otherwise remain empty and delapidated. Week 15: Luca Casaril, an expert in restoring historical ships, operates his shipyard in Cannaregio as one of the few remaining industrial sites in Venice. At this location, students constructed a new concrete platform designed to facilitate the launching of ships into the lagoon. Week 13: Students undertook repair work and constructed a new roof for the local football club Campo Sportivo Jacopo Reggio. Week 12: In this collaboration, wine tasting was an essential aspect of the design process. Week 11: This week the students focused on the maintenance of the German Pavilion itself: Among other things, repaired and repainted the ramp, built an exhaust filter for the urine reactor and designed trash cans for the washing room. / with Alanus University of Arts and Social Sciences
Week 10: Another project for the local initiative VERAS on Isola delle Vignole: students built a shed for a small tractor, using patterned panels from the Chilean Pavilion at the Art Biennale 2022 and clay plaster on reused wood wool panels. / with Università Iuav di Venezia, Rebiennale R3B

Week 08: Work continued at the independent art space S.a.L.E Docks. Students added a window sill in front of the round-arched window, a shiny tea table and a new balustrade to the wooden gallery above the entrance. Week 04: Students implemented an inclusive waterless sanitary infrastructure along with a changing room at the independent art space S.a.L.E Docks. Week 02: Members of two social associations, one from Venice one from Munich, built new kitchen cabinets for the squatted Laboratorio Climatico Pandora in Mestre.
